To start using ActiveCampaign as your email Auto Responder, you will need to complete a few easy steps first. These steps are described here for your reference.
1. Obtain your ActiveCampaign Account: Go to https://www.activecampaign.com and sign up for an account.
2. Create your Account: Enter the information required by ActiveCampaign in order to create your account.
3. Obtain your API Key: After creating your account, you will need to create an API Key. Navigate to your account in the upper right corner, and click on "My Settings".
After clicking on "My Settings", you will be navigated to a new page where you will need to select "Developer" on the left side.
Once you click on "Developer" you will be navigated to the API Access page where you will obtain your URL and Key.
At this point you can create and obtain your List Ids. Also within the ActiveCampaign terminal, you will need to navigate to Lists located at the top menu. On the right you will need to click on "Add New List" to create a new list. Once your lists are created, the List Ids are obtained by clicking on the list name.
After you click on the List Name, you will be able to obtain the numeric list Id from the URL as shown below.
Now that you have created your list and located your API Key, you can now plug this information into LimeLight. In your CRM, you will need to navigate to Admin > Auto Responder Providers. Click on the Actions drop-down menu and select "Add Auto Responder Provider", and then click on ActiveCampaign. A box will pop up where you will need to enter in the following information:
API Key: This is obtained through your ActiveCampaign terminal as described above.
API URL: This is obtained through your ActiveCampaign terminal as described above.
Alias: Create a name for your ActiveCampaign profile.
SAVE your profile.
Add the List IDs to your Campaign: When creating or editing your campaign, you will see at the very bottom of the page the option to enable an Auto Responder to your campaign. Once you select an Auto Responder, ActiveCampaign in this case, two more fields will appear: Prospect Id and Customer Id, you will enter the List Id’s that were provided to you once your Lists were created in your ActiveCampaign terminal.
NOTE: Please note that this is a standard auto responder integration, so only customer and prospect information will be sent to ActiveCampaign such as First Name, Last Name, Email and Phone number.
